WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP, KEEP GOING

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP, KEEP GOING
There are seasons in life when giving up can feel easier than continuing. You have prayed, waited, tried again, pushed through, and done everything you know how to do, yet nothing seems to be changing. You may be tired of carrying the weight, tired of waiting for an answer, tired of being strong for everyone else, or simply tired of hoping tomorrow will look different from today.
Sometimes the hardest part is not starting; it is continuing when you cannot yet see the fruit. You can begin with excitement, faith, and expectation, but when days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and the answer still has not come, weariness can slowly creep in. You begin to wonder, Is this even worth it? Should I keep going?
DON'T LOSE HEART
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) says: “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Scripture does not pretend we will never become weary. There will be moments when continuing requires more strength than we feel we have, but God encourages us not to lose heart. There is a due season. You may not be able to see it yet, and it may not arrive according to the timetable you expected, but your inability to see what God is doing does not mean that He is doing nothing. A seed beneath the soil can look like nothing is happening while underneath the surface roots are beginning to grow. Don't mistake a season of waiting for a season of wasted time.

WAITING DOESN'T MEAN NOTHING IS HAPPENING
Sometimes we want God to change the situation immediately, while God may also be doing something within us. In the waiting, He may be strengthening our faith, developing our character, teaching us patience, redirecting our steps, or preparing us for something we cannot yet see. Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) reminds us: “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Waiting on God does not mean sitting around doing nothing. It means continuing to trust Him when we don't have all the answers and bringing our weakness to Him instead of pretending we are strong enough to carry everything ourselves. When your strength begins to run out, you don't have to manufacture more. Depend on His.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN EVERY DAY
There will be days when you feel like you are soaring, days when you can run, and days when all you can manage is to walk. Isaiah reminds us that there can be different seasons and different paces. Walking may not feel impressive, but walking is still moving forward. Sometimes keeping going simply means praying one more prayer, opening your Bible again, getting back up after falling, asking God for strength, or taking the next step in front of you.
You don't have to see the entire road ahead to keep moving.
TRUST GOD WITH THE DUE SEASON
Imagine planting something and digging it up every few days because you cannot see anything growing. Eventually, you would interrupt the very process you were waiting for. Sometimes we do the same thing in life. We become discouraged because we cannot see immediate results and are tempted to walk away simply because something has not happened yet. But Galatians reminds us that there is a harvest “in due season.” Don't measure God's faithfulness by how quickly something happens, and don't let one difficult chapter convince you that your whole story is finished. We don't always know what God's answer will look like or when circumstances will change, but we can trust Him while we wait.
Don't give up simply because you cannot yet see the fruit.
KEEP GOING
If you feel like giving up today, you don't have to pretend that you aren't tired. Bring that tiredness to God. Rest if you need to rest, ask for help if you need help, slow down if you need to slow down, and pray when you don't know what else to do. But don't confuse resting with giving up. Your pace can change without your purpose changing. You don't need tomorrow's strength today. Ask God for what you need for this moment and trust Him with what comes next. Don't lose heart. Let God renew your strength, and keep going.
A REMINDER & ENCOURAGEMENT
If you are a believer and you feel weary, remember where your strength comes from. Bring your burdens to God, continue in prayer, return to His Word, seek His wisdom, and allow Him to lead you through this season. You may need to slow down, rest, or receive help from others, and that does not mean you have failed. And if you are an unbeliever reading this, perhaps you have been trying to carry life entirely through your own strength and are searching for hope, purpose, or an answer. The greatest encouragement I can give you is not simply “keep going.” It is to point you towards Jesus Christ. He is the One we ultimately need.
A GENTLE NOTE
Sometimes feeling like giving up can mean more than being tired or discouraged. If you are feeling unsafe, overwhelmed, having thoughts of harming yourself, or feeling as though you do not want to be here, please don't carry that alone. Reach out to someone you trust and seek appropriate professional or emergency support when needed. Asking for help is not giving up, and receiving support can walk alongside prayer, faith, and encouragement. You do not have to face a difficult moment alone.
REFLECT 📝
Take a moment and ask yourself:
What is making me want to give up?
Do I need rest or support?
Am I allowing disappointment to determine my next decision?
What has God already brought me through, and what is the next step in front of me?
If you are a believer, ask yourself: Am I depending on God's strength or trying to carry everything through my own?
If you are an unbeliever, ask yourself: Do I truly know Jesus Christ, or have I been trying to walk through life without Him?
BEFORE YOU GO
To the believer, don't allow a difficult season to make you forget the God you serve. You may not understand what He is doing or know when circumstances will change, but continue bringing your life before Him. Keep praying, trusting, and obeying. When you cannot run, walk. When you need to rest, rest. But don't lose heart.
And to the unbeliever, your greatest need is more than strength to make it through another difficult season. Scripture teaches that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and that the wages of sin is death, but God's gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). He calls us to repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15), and Ephesians 2:8–9 teaches that salvation is by God's grace through faith, not something we can earn through our own works.
If you do not yet know Jesus Christ, turn towards Him. The Gospel offers something greater than motivation to keep going. Through Jesus Christ there is forgiveness, reconciliation with God, salvation, and new life.
A PRAYER FOR YOU 🕊️
Heavenly Father, holy is Your name. I pray for the person reading this who feels tired, discouraged, or ready to give up. You know what they have carried, the prayers they have prayed, the tears they have cried, and the battles they may have fought quietly where nobody else could see.
May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in their life. Give them what they need for today. Renew their strength when they are weary, give them peace when their thoughts feel overwhelmed, and give them wisdom for what is ahead. Forgive their sins and help them forgive those who have hurt them. Guard their heart, protect them from temptation and evil, and help them not to lose heart.
When they cannot see what You are doing, help them trust You. When they cannot run, help them walk, and when they feel weak, remind them that they do not have to rely on their own strength.
For the believer who is weary, strengthen their faith and help them continue walking with You. For the unbeliever who does not yet know You, draw them to repentance and faith and help them understand the forgiveness, salvation, and new life found in Jesus Christ.
Strengthen them for the journey ahead, and may they look back and see that You were with them through it all.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
BE ENCOURAGED.
ALL GLORY TO GOD MOST HIGH 🔥
